Kosovo Starts Accepting Deported Citizens from the US

Outgoing Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti announced on Thursday evening that his country has started to accept citizens of other countries that the United States is deporting, under an agreement signed between the two countries last June. Kurti stated in an interview with a local television station: "We are accepting those whom the United States does not want to have on its territory." He also noted that, if he is not mistaken, one or two of them have already arrived here. Kurtti clarified that the agreement has a duration of one year and includes fifty people "with the aim of facilitating their safe return to their countries of origin." Kosovo, one of the poorest countries in Europe and independent from Serbia since 2008, wanted to express its gratitude to the United States for its support and cooperation through this agreement.
